I’m so excited to plant my herbal garden on the farm early this summer so that I can always have fresh herbs on hand when my family needs them.

Why grow medicinal herbs in early summer?

What are the uses of medicinal herb plants?

Yarrow

Contains several active compounds, including flavonoids, volatile oils, and tannins, which contribute to its therapeutic effects

Nettle

Rich in vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds, including iron, calcium, vitamin C, and flavonoids. Traditionally, herbalists use nettle in herbal medicine and as a food source.

Calendula

Edible flowers of the plant contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, carotenoids, and essential oils, which contribute to its therapeutic effects.

Lemon Balm

An herbaceous plant. It is a close relative of mint and I personally love it for its delightful lemony aroma and taste.
